Truman farmers market held at new location

TRUMAN — The Truman Swimming Pool is open from 1 to 5 p.m. and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. daily. Daily admission is $5. Punch card for 10 admissions is $45. Late night swim admission is $3. Water aerobics from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. All summer long aerobics is $60. Group/swimming lessons for beginners through level 6 is $75 per level. Monday to Thursday. (eight days of lessons). The first round of the lessons will begin on Monday, June 15. New classes will start up every two weeks through the season. The Truman Swimming Pool is available to rent for private parties from 8:30 to 11 p.m.

Truman Active Living will host a farmers market again this summer from 8 to 11 a.m. on Saturdays, June 27, July 11, Aug. 1, Aug. 15, Aug. 29, Sept. 12 and Sept. 26, at the north parking lot of Truman Tavern. Donations are needed to help fund the Truman Days parade in July. Please help put on the parade by sending your donations to the Truman Days Committee, PO Box 34, Truman MN 56088. Your sponsorship and/or donation are sincerely appreciated. The Truman Days parade is funded separately from other Truman Days activities. Because of your sponsorship and/or donations, Truman has been able to put on a nice parade that has been enjoyed by many in the area. If you have questions, email trumandays.mn@gmail.com.

Recycling day is Wednesday. Place recycling containers on the curb by 7 a.m. Egg cartons, pizza boxes, styrofoam and plastic grocery bags are prohibited. All items being recycled must be cleaned.

Prairieland Solid Waste Management (PSWM) in Truman will have a household hazardous waste collection for Martin and Faribault County residents from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1. Paint, aerosols, cleaners, lawn/garden products, used gas and oil and more will be accepted. For more information, contact PSWM at (507) 776-3232.

Garage sale forms are due Wednesday, July 1 with your $10 fee. Your fee will put you on the map and a listing of your items. Forms are available from Linda at 306 East 5th Street North, Denise at 234 North 2nd Avenue East and Casey’s in Truman. Return to Denise Lewison or Linda Meyer. Truman Pride will meet at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1. Pride in the school, pride in the students and pride in our future. They work together to promote, support and accomplish fun things and resources for the students, staff and school. All are welcome. It is okay to bring your kids. Be a part of something positive.

Come to the library for 4-H adventures at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1 This is a free drop-in youth enrichment program where kids participate in hands-on STEM arts and educational activities. The agribusiness commerce of the Fairmont Area Chamber of Commerce and Martin County Pork Producers. Announce the 28th annual blue ribbon pork cook-off, to be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Aug. 13 in the Martin County Arena at the Martin County Fairgrounds. Blue ribbon pork cook-off tickets are available for $12 at the Fairmont Chamber of Commerce.

Jazz band camp for grades 6 to 9 will be from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. from July 13 to 17, at Granada-Huntley-East Chain School. You will learn jazz band basics, play as a band, build your skills and perform at the end. Register online at ghec.revtrak.net or in person at GHEC school.
