Highway projects on track in Faribault County
BLUE EARTH– With the summer not even half over, the Faribault County Board of Commissioners learned on Tuesday that most of the highway projects scheduled for this year are either complete or nearing completion.
“All of the work is done on County State Aid Highways (CSAH) 28, 30 and the north part of CSAH 31,” Public Works director Mark Daly told the commissioners. “The south section of CSAH 31 is complete except for getting the fog lines painted. The paving is complete on CSAH 21 and shouldering will begin this week to complete that project.”
The only highway work remaining, according to Daly, was on CSAH 29.
“Full-depth reclamation is set to begin this week on that road with paving set for mid-August,” Daly commented. “The only other paving project is the Unity Trail in Blue Earth and no work has been done on it at this time.”
Daly said work on the bridges set for this summer has been delayed.
“There have been some supply availability problems,” Daly offered. “Work will probably not start on the bridges until late July or into August.”
In other business, the board:
— Made a motion to approve payment No. 2 for the courthouse heating, ventilation and air conditioning project in the amount of $27,759 passed unanimously.
— Voted to approve the training request of Lori Mehrhof of the county assessor’s office to attend the Minnesota Association of Assessment Personnel 2022 Summer Workshop.
