Senior citizens plan Monday potluck
WELCOME — Today begins the month of July. Time flies when you are having fun. Speaking of fun, the Welcome Summer Festival will be Saturday, July 16, with some extra events on Friday and Sunday too. Today is the final date to get rummage sale information in to be on the map which will be distributed at Casey’s. Email your name, address, and pertinent information to welcome.festival1890@ gmail.com today. If anyone is interested in being in the parade at 3:30 p.m. on July 16, call (507) 236-1791 ASAP. Thank you to the festival committee for organizing what looks to be a fun day.
Condolences to the family of Carol LaFavor of Welcome who passed away. She will be missed.
Monday the senior citizens group will meet for a noon potluck and fellowship at the Welcome Legion Hall. Please bring a dish to pass and your eating utensils. Any area senior citizen is welcome to join them especially if your town doesn’t have an active senior citizens group.
Waverly Lutheran Church north of Welcome is reminded that their Sunday morning services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. during the month of July and First Lutheran Church in Trimont will have 9 a.m.

Welcome Historical Society Museum will be open 2-4 p.m. Saturday, July 2. Check out all the items of interest at the museum which is located on Hulseman Street.
Tuesday coffee hours will be held 8:30-10 a.m. every Tuesday in July at the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn just south of I-90. Join friends and neighbors for good coffee and treats and great fellowship.
Welcome City Council will meet 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, at Welcome City Hall. All members are urged to attend. There is always a time for public comments and questions at the beginning of each meeting without reservation. The County Legions, DAV and VFW posts will sponsor a Veterans serving Veterans free outdoor picnic for veterans and their families from 4-7 p.m. on July 9, at Gomsrud Park in Fairmont. The menu will include pork chop on a stick, chips, soft drinks, and dessert. Plans also include prizes and music.
