‘Sing 2’ showing this weekend

SHERBURN — Tonight will be Hamburger Night at the Sherburn Legion from 5-8 p.m. Also, since this Saturday will be the second Saturday of the month, there will be a steak fry from 5-8 p.m. Jan. 8, at the Sherburn Legion. Plan now to attend these fundraisers.

There will be a ’Lunch and Learn’ event beginning 11 a.m. today at the Senior Citizens building by city hall in Sherburn. The program is New Year’s Surprise. The lunch will be a soup and sandwich meal with a dessert. This is open to anyone in Martin County. A free will donation will be accepted for the meal.

The Sherburn Theatre has held over the movie “Sing 2″ for this coming weekend. Show times are 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and at 4 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $5.

Condolences to the families of Wilmer Kiecksee and Carol Swanson who passed away last week. They will be missed.

The mobile clinic in Sherburn is available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 17 and Wednesday, Jan. 19. The van is usually parked near or behind the Sherburn City Hall on First Street. Martin County West athletes are busy this week with a boys basketball game at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan 6, at Nicollet, and a girls game 7 p.m. on Friday, at St. Clair. Wrestling will be held 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 7, at Sherburn and a tournament for Tri City United at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 8. Gymnastics will hold an MCA Invitational meet at 11 a.m. Friday at Live Fit in Fairmont. There will be a boys basketball game vs. Fairmont 7:15 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, in Trimont. The girls basketball team will travel to Cleveland for a 7:15 p.m. game on Monday, Jan. 10. The boys basketball team will have a game vs. Alden-Conger at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11, in Trimont. Gymnastics will travel to Pipestone at 6 p.m. on Jan 11. Good luck to all the Maverick athletes.
