Boy Scouts taking donations
TRUMAN — Scouting for food by the Boy Scouts of America Twin Valley Council is Saturday. Place your donated items in a plastic bag and place by your front door before 9 a.m. with the scouting for food note attached. Scouts will pick up the donated items. If you have any questions, call (507) 387-3123 or twinvalleybsa.org. Scouting helps youth build character, develop leadership and citizenship skills, and improve personal fitness. Join scouts now.
Tuesday is National Pencil Day, so why not jot a handwritten not to a friend.
An American Red Cross blood drive will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on April 7, in the activity room at the Truman School, 401 E. 1st St. S. For appointment, please call Laurie Sherman at the school office at (507) 776-2111, the Red Cross at 1-800-733-2767 or download the Blood Drive app to redcrossblood.org.
With the baseball season here, I wanted to share this with you. The mostly unknown second and third verses of “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” reveal the song was originally written as a feminist anthem about a woman wanting to go see a baseball game rather than go on a date to a show.
Mark your calendar for the Truman Fire Department’s breakfast to be held April 11.
Truman Days will be held July 24, 25 and 26.
