WELCOME — The Trimont Farmers Market will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Fridays at Anderson Park. There will be children’s activities from 10 a.m. to noon, lunch and vendors selling local produce and items. Sundaes at the Park will be at 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 5 at Triumph Memorial Park in Trimont. Entertainment will be by the Kittleson Family Band. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy music and ice cream. In case of inclement weather, the event will be held at the Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center in Trimont.

Coffee Hours will be from 8:30 to 10 a.m. each Tuesday in July at the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn. Join friends and neighbors for fellowship around a cup of coffee and treats.

The Friendship Club from St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn will meet for breakfast at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, July 6, at Green Mill in Fairmont. All are welcome to join. Membership in the club or at St. John’s Lutheran Church is not required.

The Circle of Faith Parishes will have July services at 9 a.m. at Waverly Lutheran Church north of Welcome and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ceylon on Sundays in July. On July 12, they will have a combined service in Ceylon and then go to Heaven’s Table Food Shelf to help. Other area churches welcome residents to their services. St. Paul’s Community Church in Welcome at 9:30 a.m. on Sundays; St. John Lutheran Church in Sherburn at 8 a.m. on Sundays; The Regional Worship Center (Assembly of God) in Sherburn at 10 a.m. on Sundays; and St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Sherburn at 5 p.m. on Saturdays from July to Sept.

In the Nov. 3 elections, some area city officers may be elected. In Welcome, there are filings for Mayor (two-year term) and two Council members (four-year terms). Candidates wishing to have their names on the ballot must apply with an affidavit of candidacy. These are available from July 14 to 28 at the candidate’s city of residence’s city hall.

Vacation Bible School in Trimont for children ages four years to incoming grade 6 students from July 19 to 23 at the Covenant Church in Trimont.
