Trimont Farmers Market on Fridays
CEYLON — Area churches welcome area residents to their services. The Circle of Faith Parishes will have services in July at 9 a.m. at Waverly Lutheran Church north of Welcome and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ceylon on Sunday mornings. On July 12, they will have a combined service in Ceylon and go to the Heaven’s Table Food Shelf to help them clean or sort. St. Paul’s Lutheran in Wilbert will have 10 a.m. services on Sundays. St. John’s Lutheran in Sherburn will have 8 a.m. services on Sundays.
St. Paul Community Church in Welcome has 9:30 Sunday services. The Regional Worship Center (Assembly of God) in Sherburn has 10 a.m. services on Sundays, and the St. Luke Catholic Church in Sherburn has Saturday 5 p.m. services (July to Sept.)
Sundaes at the Park will be at 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 5, at Triumph Memorial Park in Trimont. Entertainment will be by the Kittleson Family Band. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy music and ice cream. In case of inclement weather, the event will be held at the Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center in Trimont.
Coffee Hours will be from 8:30 to 10 a.m. each Tuesday in July at the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn. Join friends and neighbors for fellowship around a cup of coffee and treats.
Coffee Lovers meet from 8:30 to 10 a.m. each Thursday in the banquet room at the Lake Belt Bar and Grill in Ceylon. All are welcome to join friends and neighbors for fellowship around a cup of coffee and treats.

The Helping Hands of Ceylon makes arrangements for the Heaven’s Table Food Boxes to be brought to Ceylon. Sign up each month by calling (507) 236-7850. The deadline for this month is July 9. Pick up boxes at 209 North West Street on July 14. Thank you for helping with the boxes.
The American Red Cross blood drives will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, at Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont, and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, July 20, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Fairmont. The Summer Ceylon Auction will be held on July 18, and consignments begin from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on July 8. Circle the date and meet in Ceylon. Howell Auctioneers and Clint Winter ask that no household items be for sale. Construction farm equipment and vehicles with others are to be consigned to this auction. Some residents have planned to have garage sales too.

Area towns will have offices on the ballot for the Nov. 3 election this year. Most have a mayor and two council members to file affidavits of candidacy from July 14 to July 28. Affidavits can be obtained at the City Hall in Ceylon, Sherburn, Welcome, Trimont and Dunnell.
