WELCOME — Welcome City Council has approved closing City Hall to the public during the coronavirus pandemic.

Calls or emails can be made to contact the city clerk. City Council meetings will be conducted via email or teleconference.

In other business, council members discussed placing stop signs at Harrison Street north and south and Second Street north and south. Officials say there is heavy traffic and poor visibility at some points. Officials will consider the issue further.

In another matter, shelter house repair planning was tabled. City staff will ask Bolton & Menk engineers for a plan. Some needed repairs mentioned are roof, siding and doors.

Finally, the council accepted with thanks donations from Fox Lake Conservation of $10,000, Welcome Fire Association of $10,000 and Valero of $500, all toward air packs for the fire department.
