WELCOME — Coffee hours for August continue from 8:30-10 a.m. each Tuesday at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn. Join friends and neighbors for good brew, treats and good fellowship.

Coffee hours for September are scheduled at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Welcome.

There will be two more 6:30 p.m. Wednesday evening services in August for the Circle of Faith parishes at Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome.

The other parishes in Waverly and Ceylon will have 8:30 a.m. Sunday services in August.

Welcome Legion, Legion Auxiliary and Sons of the Legion groups will have a membership drive meal on Aug. 24. Social hour will begin 5 p.m., with the meal set for 6 p.m.

Paid memberships will receive a free meal of chicken and sweet corn. The public is invited to the meal for $5.

Upcoming events include:

o A change of date for the senior citizens noon potluck in September. The first Monday is the Labor Day holiday so the senior citizens will meet on (Tuesday) Sept. 4. Mark your calendar so you don’t miss it.

o The 2019 Relay for Life will hold a kickoff meeting Oct. 1. Talk to friends and family about getting together for a relay for life team, now. For more information, call (507) 236-2034.
