WELCOME — Saturday, May 11, is Clean Up Day for Welcome residents. Bring items to the truck behind the fire hall on Campbell Street from 8-10 a.m. or whenever the truck is full. Unacceptable items are: any liquid, paint, oil, toxic materials, tires, yard waste and appliances. The appliance tags were sold at city hall for that drop off today. No appliances without a tag. This is an opportunity to get rid of items that might potentially be ordinance violations.

Welcome Legion is scheduled to meet 7 p.m. Monday, May 13, at the Welcome Legion Hall. All

members are encouraged to attend. Memorial Day is not far away.

Tuesday coffee hours in May continue from 8:30-10 a.m. on May 14, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome. Join friends and neighbors for good coffee and great fellowship.

There will be American Red Cross blood drives in Fairmont in May on May 16, at Grace Lutheran

Circle of Faith parishes have special meetings and services scheduled for May. This Sunday, May 12, First Lutheran Church in Trimont will have a special congregational meeting after the 10:30 a.m. service. On May 19, Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome will be the host for a joint service for all parishes and will celebrate their 150th anniversary as a congregation with a special service and lunch following the service.

First Lutheran Church in Trimont will host a Lunch & Learn program sponsored by CREST at 11

a.m. Wednesday, May 15, with lunch to follow. These interesting and informative programs are free to anyone in Martin County. A free will donation is appreciated for the lunch.

Condolences to the families of Geraldine Gewerth and Velma Wilson who passed away recently. They will be missed by family and friends.

Lake Promenaders square dance group will meet 6 p.m. Sunday, May 12, at the Shaw home, 804 W. First Street in Welcome. Anyone interested in square dancing is welcome to join them.

Welcome Summer Festival weekend is scheduled for July 19-21 and the festival committee has a ticket sales fundraiser started. Tickets can be purchased from committee members or at the

Welcome Legion Hall. The drawing will be held at the festival and winners need not be present to win. There are 500 tickets and the prizes are a pizza oven, $400 cash, Yeti bundle and two gift certificates of $100 each from Welcome Meats. Mark your calendar for the Welcome Festival.
