Just a reminder that hydrant flushing will take place April 16-27. During the process, customers may experience discolored water along with low water pressure at times.

If and when you see utility personnel flushing hydrants in your neighborhood, you may want to hold off washing clothes until you know your water service has cleared up and you have clear, clean water flowing in your home.

Customers with water softeners may want to make sure their softener does not operate during low flow periods.

Truman Public Utilities asks for your cooperation and thanks everyone for your patience during this process.

n

Jaguar softball is hosting a Strike Out Cancer event during its softball games against Madelia on May 8 at Rosburg Diamond. There will be many fun events throughout the afternoon and evening, such as a Survivor/Memory walk, Strike Out pledges, T-shirt sales, concessions, kids activities and even a live auction in between innings. All proceeds will be split between Martin and Watonwan County Relay for Life chapters.

T-shirts will be available for purchase. Organizers would like to get as many pre-orders as possible. The T-shirt was designed by two Jags softball players. It is lavender, which is the color representing all types of cancer.

Ways people can help:

o Organizers can use people willing to help out manning a station or working concessions;

o They would gratefully accept any concession donations, such as candy, chips, bottled water, pop, Gatorade, hamburger, pickles, microwave popcorn (single bags), etc.;

o There is a need for a small public address system that could be used for announcing.

People can contact a committee member to volunteer help or ask questions: Allison Klassen (507) 381-0963, Courtney Studer (507) 327-6917, Holly Brummond (507) 236-4948, Nancy Salic (507) 236-1314, Paula Kester (507) 236-6774.

See you on May 8 to “Strike Out Cancer.”
