Historical Society to meet

CEYLON — Our Savior’s Lutheran Church will have its usual 5:30 p.m. service tonight, followed by its monthly potluck fellowship supper. It also will have its annual voters meeting tonight after the supper.

Area residents are invited to join them for services and the monthly potluck supper.

There will be a baby shower brunch for Katelyn Steeves (Michael) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at the Maschoff Red Barn, (299 170th Ave., Ceylon).

Friends and relatives are invited.

Katelyn is the daughter of Jeff and Julie Laue.

There will be a Red Cross blood drive in Ceylon from 1-6 p.m. Monday at the Legends2/Legion building. To make an appointment or for more information, call (800) RED-CROSS (733-2767) or go online to www.redcrossblood.org or text BLOODAPP to 90999.

They also will hold blood drives from 12:30-6:30 p.m. Feb. 12 in Trimont, and from Feb. 13-15 at the Fairmont Holiday Inn.

Giving blood can save up to three people for each unit given. Give the gift of life by giving blood.

The ladies of St. Peter Lutheran Church will meet for their monthly meeting 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Ceylon Area Historical Society will have its annual meeting 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in the meeting room at the State Bank in Ceylon.

Two directors will be elected. The terms of directors Steve Houfer and Tom Bents are up for re-election, and other business will be discussed.

All members of the society are encouraged to attend the meeting. Become a member at the meeting if you’re not a member already.

The LWML ladies group from St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wilbert will meet for a potluck luncheon noon Thursday. All the ladies of the congregation are invited, and the men too. It will be a kind of a Valentine’s present from the LWML ladies. They will have their monthly meeting following the lunch.

Friendly Neighbors Card Club will meet 1:30 p.m. Friday at the home of Barb Koehler. All members are urged to attend.

Legends 2 will have a special all-you-can-eat fish fry Friday. There will be a charge.
