Jesus A. Garza, 37, of Eagle Lake was convicted of third-degree driving while impaired-one aggravating factor; fined $940, sentenced to jail 365 days, stayed 364 days for two years, credit for time served one day, two years supervised probation, contact probation officer as directed, complete chemical assessment, follow all recommendations of evaluation, no alcohol/controlled substance use with the exception of prescribed medications, no alcohol/controlled substance possession with the exception of prescribed medications, random testing, attend MADD impact panel, follow all state and federal criminal laws, contact probation agent within 72 hours if charged with a new crime; are in contact with law enforcement; if changes address, employment, or telephone number, cooperate with search of person, residence, vehicle, workplace, property, etc. by probation officer, sign releases of information as directed, don’t use/possess firearms, ammunition, or explosives if prohibited by law. Additional charges of fourth-degree driving while impaired, driving without a valid drivers license for vehicle class or type, and failure of driver to carry proof of insurance when operating a vehicle, were all dismissed.

Derek A. Christensen, 21, of Wells was convicted of disorderly conduct-offensive/abusive/boisterous/noisy/obscene; fined $260, sentenced to jail 90 days, stayed 88 days for one year, credit for time served two days, one year supervised probation, contact probation officer as directed, follow all recommendations of the chemical dependency evaluation, comply with mental health treatment, no mood-altering chemicals, no alcohol/controlled substance possession with the exception of prescribed medications, random testing, follow all state and federal criminal laws, contact probation agent within 72 hours if charged with a new crime; are in contact with law enforcement; if changes address, employment, or telephone number, cooperate with search of person, residence, vehicle, workplace, property, etc. by probation officer, give a DNA sample when when directed, sign releases of information as directed, don’t use/possess firearms, ammunition, or explosives if prohibited by law. Additional charge of interrupt/interfere/impede/disrupt 911 emergency call/communications was dismissed.

Jesse L. Nystrom, 38, of Minnesota Lake was convicted of third-degree driving while impaired-one aggravating factor; fined $865, sentenced to jail 365 days, stayed 335 days for two years, credit for time served two days, can serve the balance of 28 days on EHM with alco-sensor at defendant’s expense, two years supervised probation, contact probation officer as directed, complete chemical assessment and follow all recommendations, restitution reserved for 30 days, no mood-altering chemicals, no alcohol/controlled substance possession with the exception of prescribed medications, random testing, attend MADD impact panel, follow all state and federal criminal laws, contact probation agent within 72 hours if charged with a new crime; are in contact with law enforcement; if changes address, employment, or telephone number, cooperate with search of person, residence, vehicle, workplace, property, etc. by probation officer, sign releases of information as directed, don’t use/possess firearms, ammunition, or explosives if prohibited by law. Additional charges of third-degree damage to property-public safety of a motor vehicle, and interfere/obstruct firefighting, were both dismissed.
