Community Meal at UCC

First Congregational United Church of Christ will host a free Community Meal at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 17. Rural Action and Discussion will serve various hot dishes, penne pasta with sauces, vegetarian options, bars/Christmas cookies and beverages. All are welcome.

Advent midweek service at SOTL

Advent midweek services will be at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 10, at the Shepherd of the Lakes Lutheran Church in Fairmont. The season of Advent celebrates the coming of Christ, first in Bethlehem and his future return in glory. Join us as we look at the Bible songs of Christmas to help us prepare and celebrate the birth of Christ. The song will be “The Song of the Angels”.

Martin County Players to perform

The Martin County Players presents 1946 Frank Capra’s “It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play” at 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 19, at the Martin County Historical Society Pioneer Parsonage House in Fairmont, and at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 20, at the Red Rock Center for the Arts in Fairmont. FOH presents holiday play

The Fairmont Opera House presents Ken Ludwig’s “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas” at 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 19, 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 20 and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 21 at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church in Fairmont. The play follows the adventures of Emily, Aunt Wanda, and an elf, Calliope, as they set out to save Christmas and ensure Santa’s sleigh takes flight in time.
