Odd Fellows to host Pilgrimage for Youth

Winnebago City No. 30 and Starlight No. 11 are hosting a presentation by Owen Whitney, a senior from Morristown, Minn., who will be sharing his experience from the Odd Fellow and Rebekah 2022 Pilgrimage for Youth Tour on the East Coast. The presentation will be Thursday, May 17 at the Winnebago Municipal Center, 140 S. Main St. in Winnebago. A light supper will be provided at 6:30 p.m. and the program will begin at 7 p.m. This is open to the public. CER to offer upcoming community activities

Fairmont Community Education & Recreation (CER) will offer two upcoming community activities. First, Unified Cardinals Million Millimeter Mini Marathon for Inclusion event will be held 12 p.m. Sunday, May 21, on the athletic field at Fairmont Jr/Sr High School in Fairmont. Fairmont Jr/Sr High School is a Unified Champion School with Special Olympics Minnesota. Their mission is to promote the message of Inclusion for All in our school and in our community. The first annual Unified Cardinals Million Millimeter Mini Marathon for Inclusion will be a family event for all members of our community. There will be food, music and the mini marathon (One million millimeter is 1 km, or a little over two laps around the track). It will be an untimed, walk/stroll/fun run, so everyone can join in the fun. All participants will receive a meal (pork chop-on-a-stick, chips, watermelon, cookie and water)and a light blue Million Millimeter Mini Marathon tee-shirt. Register ASAP to be guaranteed a tee-shirt on the day of the event.  Virtual participants will receive a shirt through the mail. A link will be provided to each virtual participant. Next, Sip and Paint with Designs by Kandvas – Gnome Painting class will be held 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, at the Southern MN Educational Campus (SMEC) building, 115 S. Park St. in Fairmont. Registration closes May 23. Grab your friends, family, and your creative spirit to paint. The instructor will talk you through the process, from mixing paint colors to what sort of brush strokes to use. Beginners are welcome. You don’t need to bring anything, just your willingness to have fun. The fee for the class is $39 which includes canvas, all painting supplies and use of a protective smock.
