Trap shooting event planned Sunday

East Chain Sportsman’s Club will hold a regular merchandise trap shoot event from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7, at the club located a half-mile north of East Chain. This will also be the first week of the ‘Traveling Club Shoot’ which runs Aug. 7 through Sept. 11 at East Chain Sportsman’s Club, Fairmont Trap Club and Huntley Gun Club. Each person will shoot 100 targets at each club. Limited amount of shells for event. For more information, contact Moby at (507) 236-4189. Everyone is welcome.

Prairie Star Quilters to hold meeting

Prairie Star Quilt Guild will hold its next meeting Monday, Aug. 8, at Fairmont Evangelical Covenant Church, 901 Woodland Ave., Fairmont. The quilt board will meet at 12:30 p.m., followed by a general membership meeting at 1:30 p.m. Following the meeting, there will be a trunk show by Lin Hilgendorf, with a sew and share to follow. Play Café Tuesday at Fairmont Library

Join library staff to explore and play at the Play Café beginning 10 a.m. Tuesdays, Aug. 9, 16, 23 and 30, at the Martin County Library, 110 N. Park St. in Fairmont. This is geared for kids, ages newborn to 5 years old.

Historical Society to offer presentation

A video presentation featuring the military experience of Harry Brumbaugh will be shown 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, at the Pioneer Museum in Fairmont. There is no charge. The public is invited to attend.
