FHS class of 1970 for lunch
The Fairmont High School (FHS) class of 1970 will meet for lunch at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, April 27, in the back room at the Pizza Ranch buffet restaurant in Fairmont.
Fairmont Safe Routes To School
Fairmont Safe Routes to School (SRTS) will be on Tuesday, April 28. SRTS provides four safe routes for children to get active by walking and biking to school one day a week during the fall and spring. Walkers and bikers are brought to their respective schools by crosswalk guards and adult volunteers along safe routes. Routes include: Route 1, Corner of Day Street and South Orient at 7:45 a.m., Route 2 at the Fairmont Aquatic Park at 7:30 a.m., Route 3 at St Paul Lutheran School Playground at 7:40 a.m., and Route 4 at Grace Lutheran Church at 7:30 a.m. The beginning locations of each route are also designated SRTS Safe Zones. Parents are encouraged to use the drop points to promote walking for fitness and avoid the congestion at Fairmont Elementary School (FES). Play Café brewing at Fmt library
Play Café will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 28, at the Martin County Library in Fairmont. Enjoy playtime that encourages growth and learning for children ages zero to five and their caregivers. For additional information, contact the Martin County Library at (507) 238-4207.
Teen/Tween After Hours at Fmt library
Teen and Tween After Hours will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28, at the Martin County Library in Fairmont. The event includes activities and food for students in fifth grade and up. For additional information, contact the Martin County Library at (507) 238-4207.
MCHS to show presentations
The Martin County Historical Society (MCHS) will show free presentations, “Martin County Sheriffs” and “Helen Gilbert,” at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28, at the Pioneer Museum in Fairmont. All are welcome to attend. For additional information, contact the MCHS at (507) 235-5178.
Volunteer at CREST
Caregiver Response Effort and Service Team (CREST) in Fairmont is accepting CREST volunteers. The duties of CREST volunteers include speaking on the phone with homebound seniors, driving seniors to errands and trips, light housekeeping, meal preparation, budget management, visiting and other tasks.
