Class of 1955 to meet

Fairmont High School class of 1955 and spouses will meet 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Pizza Ranch, Fairmont.

Humane Society plans annual event Saturday

Martin County Humane Society will hold their 25th anniversary Walk for Animals event beginning 2 p.m. Saturday at Cedar Creek Park in Fairmont. There will be prizes, vendors, tee-shirts, a picnic lunch, silent auction and special guest speaker, Andrew “Roo” Yori, who is a four-time participant on TV’s American Ninja Warrior. In addition, he is an advocate for adopting homeless animals. Roo and his family adopted one of the dogs seized from a fighting kennel which became a certified therapy dog that visited hospitals and nursing homes. As well, a brother and sister, Eddie and Ellie, will be this years mascots. All are welcome to come to the event and help support the animals.
