City of Lakes Garden Club to meet

City of Lakes Garden Club of Fairmont will meet 11 a.m. Wednesday at the home of Vernette Buckmeier-Turner in Fairmont. There will be a business meeting followed by a presentation on “Strange Vegetable Facts” and “How to Make Your Own Fairy Garden.” The purpose of the organization is to encourage all forms of horticulture in the home and community. Those interested in becoming a member or who would like more information may call Myrtle Heifner at (507) 235-8535. New members are welcome.

Class of 1961 to lunch

Fairmont High School class of 1961, spouses and friends, will meet for lunch 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Pizza Ranch, Fairmont.

Veterans memorial meeting scheduled

The monthly meeting for the Martin County Veterans Memorial will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at 95 Downtown Plaza in Fairmont. All Martin County veterans, veteran’s family members or interested public are encouraged to attend.

Truman church to host quilting sale

Trinity Lutheran Church in Truman will host a quilting and crafter’s sale from 12-6 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at their church located at 102 S. 7th Ave. E. in Truman. Items are from the Barb Mager estate. Everything must go. All are invited.
