Garden Club to meet today

City of Lakes Garden Club will meet 12:30 p.m. today at the home of Kathy Lloyd in Fairmont. The club usually meets the first Wednesday of every month. The purpose of the organization is to encourage all forms of horticulture in the home and community. Those interested in becoming a member or who would like more information about the club may call Myrtle Heifner at (507) 235-8535. New members are always welcome.

Partners in Education to meet tonight

Fairmont Partners in Education, formerly the Alumni Association, will hold its annual meeting 6:30 p.m. tonight in the lounge at the Ranch Restaurant, Fairmont. Those who have contributed to Partners in Education at any time are welcome to attend this meeting. For more information, contact Barb Iverson at (507) 235-6086.

Library to host farmers market activities

Fairmont Library staff will host free children’s activities from 9-11 a.m. Saturday at the Fairmont farmers market located at Five Lakes Center in Fairmont. All are welcome.

Humane Society plans event for animals

Martin County Humane Society will hold its 2018 Walk for the Animals at 2 p.m. Sunday at Cedar Creek Park on the south end of Fairmont. Collect pledges; meet Fairmont’s new K9 officer; bring your dog, friend or walk alone; enjoy a picnic meal; and have a chance to win prizes. Collect $50 or more in pledges and get a free T-shirt. There also will be Pet Portraits by Meagan from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for a $20 donation per pet, which will guarantee three digital pictures. Walk-ins are from 2:30-4 p.m. To reserve a spot, cal (507) 235-5994. Everyone is invited.

Dance club slates Sunday event

Arc Different Drummer Dance Club will host a dinner and dance from 4-7 p.m. Sunday at the Fairmont Holiday Inn. RSVP for the dinner and dance by Thursday. The public is invited to attend. For more information, contact Pat Kietzer at (507) 848-5017.
