FAIRMONT — Carly Connors and Colton Higgins announce their engagement and upcoming marriage. Parents of the couple are Leslie and James Connors of Waukesha, Wis., and Russ and Lori Higgins of Fairmont. Carly graduated from Winona State University. She is a registered nurse at Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, Minn. Colton graduated from Winona State University with bachelor’s degrees in finance and marketing. He works at Carlson Capital Management in Hastings. An Aug. 31 wedding will be held in Bloomington, Minn.

Olson-Slaughter to wed Oct. 5

FAIRMONT — The parents of Kelsy Olson and Derek Slaughter announce their engagement and upcoming marriage. Parents of the couple are Jeff Olson of Harrisburg, S.D., and Terri Leonard of Sioux Falls, and Duane Slaughter of Shakopee and Jen Slaughter of Fairmont. Kelsy graduated Rasmussen College with a bachelor’s degree in marketing. She works as a product specialist at Mankato Hilltop Hy-Vee. Derek graduated from Minnesota State-Mankato with a bachelor’s degree in business management. He is assistant manager at Mankato Hilltop Hy-Vee. An Oct. 5 wedding is planned in Mankato.

Alleven-Stensland to wed Aug. 23

FAIRMONT — Ashley Alleven and Daniel Stensland announce their engagement and upcoming marriage. Parents of the couple are Todd and Kim Steuber of Fairmont, and Larry and Deb Stensland of Granada. Ashley graduated from Iowa Lakes Community College. She works at Signature Swine, the family farm, and coaches at Fairmont Crossfit. Daniel graduated from South Dakota State University. He is co-owner of Premier Ag Partners and serves on the Fairmont Fire Department. An Aug. 23 wedding is planned at Rolling Oaks Barn, Spirit Lake, Iowa.

Poole-Knorp to marry Sept. 7

WINNEBAGO — Sierrah Poole and Daniel Knorp announce their engagement and upcoming marriage. Parents of the couple are Julie Hassing, Kevin and Kim Poole, all of Winnebago, and Russell and Maureen Knorp of Hastings, Mich. FAIRMONT — Meghan Monsen and Kevin Hanson announce their engagement and upcoming marriage. Parents of the couple are Todd and Patty Monsen, and Gary and Linda Hanson, all of Fairmont. Meghan graduated from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, then continued her schooling at Northwestern Health Sciences University where she received her Doctorate of Chiropractic.
