FAIRMONT — The parents of Kelsy Olson and Derek Slaughter announce their engagement and upcoming marriage.

Parents of the couple are Jeff Olson of Harrisburg, S.D., and Terri Leonard of Sioux Falls, and Duane Slaughter of Shakopee and Jen Slaughter of Fairmont.

Kelsy graduated Rasmussen College with a bachelor’s degree in marketing. She works as a product specialist at Mankato Hilltop Hy-Vee.

Derek graduated from Minnesota State-Mankato with a bachelor’s degree in business management. He is assistant manager at Mankato Hilltop Hy-Vee.

An Oct. 5 wedding is planned in Mankato.
