Four events placed in Cardinal record books

MANKATO – The Fairmont track team competed in the MSU Varsity Showcase this past Saturday at the Minnesota State University – Mankato Indoor Track. The Cardinals set new Indoor School Records in four events during their performance, two in pole vault and two in relays. Jase Meade’s 12’6” on the pole vault was good for the 10th-best in the meet behind Edina’s Nathan Grill and Luke Deangelo. Ellie Perkins finished in third place with her 11’0”. Junkermeier, Hackett nab All-Conference recognition

Fairmont boys basketball player Logan Junkermeier earned a nomination on this year’s Big South Conference, Gold Division All-Conference team. Junkermier’s 18.3ppg and 9.5 rpg guided Fairmont to a 22-5 record, earning him the title of 2026 All-Sentinel Boys Basketball Player of the Year. Cardinal shooting guard Joseph Hackett earned honorable mentions. Hackett ended his Fairmont senior season averaging over 10 ppg while knocking down 36% of his outside shots. He was a part of the 2026 All-Sentinel team for these exact efforts.
