Anna S. Agerbeck
FAIRMONT — A funeral service for Anna S. Agerbeck, age 92, of Fairmont, Minn., will be 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 13, 2021, at Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont, with interment in East Side Cemetery, Estherville, Iowa. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Anna passed away Monday, Dec. 6, 2021, at Seasons Healthcare in Trimont, Minn. Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.
Anna Signa Agerbeck was born Dec. 15, 1928, on the Wenberg Farm in Lake Fremont Township, rural Dunnell, Minn., the daughter of Soren and Olina (Christensen) Agerbeck. Anna was baptized Aug. 4, 1929, and later was confirmed on Dec. 3, 1950. She attended Huntington Rural School and Emmet Consolidated before graduating from Estherville High School in 1946. Anna furthered her education at Iowa Lutheran School of Nursing. After graduating in 1950, Anna worked for doctors in Estherville and Spencer, Iowa, before working at the Worthington Municipal Hospital. She then enrolled at the University of Iowa where she earned her BSN degree in 1964. Anna then worked as a migrant public health nurse before working in Mower County as a public health nurse for twenty-eight years. After her retirement, Anna moved to Fairmont to be closer to her family.
Anna was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont where she volunteered on the Alter Committee. She also volunteered with the Salvation Army in Fairmont as well as the Martin County Library. During her free time, Anna enjoyed swimming, golfing, quilting, and spending time with her family and friends. Left to cherish her memory include her nieces, Berniece (Roy) Jensen, and Mary Christensen; four great-nephews, Scott (Michelle) Jensen, Jeff (JoAnna) Jensen, Brian Jensen, and Eric Christensen; great-niece, Beth (Glen) Kruger; two great-great-nephews; one great-great-niece; five great-great-stepnephews; other relatives and friends. Along with her parents, Soren and Olina Agerbeck, Anna was preceded in death by her brother, Russell Agerbeck; sisters-in-law, Irma Agerbeck, and Dorothy Agerbeck; an infant niece; and two infant nephews.
