Russell passed away Friday, Nov. 26, 2021, at his home in Fairmont. Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Russell Lee Rosenberg was born Nov. 7, 1945, in Fairmont, Minn., the son of Harold and Fern (Cheever) Rosenberg. Russell was raised on the family farm near Ceylon where he attended school and graduated from Ceylon High School with the class of 1963. On July 26, 1969, Russell was united in marriage to Lois L. Ayers at United Methodist Church in Fairmont, Minn. Together, the couple would make their home on a farm near Fairmont and were blessed with two children, Scott and Chad. Russell loved life on the farm and took great pride that came from a hard-day’s work. Following his retirement, Russell worked for AGCO and could often be found on the weekends taking drives in the countryside to check on area crops. Following the passing of his wife Lois in 2009, Russell was blessed to find love and companionship again when he met Sharon Theobald. The couple enjoyed a loving friendship and cherished their 10 years together. Russell loved spending time outdoors and was an avid hunter. He enjoyed long days spent on the lake trying his luck at landing the next big fish and was known for his vegetable garden and the large watermelons that he grew. He loved spending time with his family and treasured the many memories made watching his sons in high school playing basketball. Left to cherish his memory is his loving friend, Sharon Theobald of Fairmont, Minn.; sons, Scott Rosenberg of Worthington, Minn., and Chad Rosenberg of Redwood Falls, Minn.; grandchildren, Ashlyn Rosenberg, Brigette Rosenberg, and Callie Rosenberg; brothers, Ronald Rosenberg, Arnold (Joyce) Rosenberg, and Lowell Rosenberg; sister-in-law, Shirley (Robert) Lynch; brother-in-law, Roger (Theresa) Ayres; as well as many other extended family and friends.
