Dale A. Bryan

FAIRMONT — Services for Dale A. Bryan, 67, of Fairmont, Minn., will be 12 p.m. Oct. 2, 2021, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont with full military honors following the service by Lee C. Prentice American Legion Post #36 and Martin County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1222. Burial will be held at a later date. A time of remembrance will be held one hour prior to the time service from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Oct. 2, 2021, at the Lakeview Funeral Home. Dale passed away Thursday, Sept. 16, 2021, at Temperance Lake Ridge in Sherburn, Minn. Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Dale A. Bryan was born Dec. 18, 1953, in Parkston, S.D., the son of LaVerne and Iona (Godfredsen) Bryan. Dale grew up on the family farm near Stickney, S.D., and received his education from Stickney school, graduating from Stickney High School with the Class of 1972. Following his graduation, Dale enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served his country proudly during the Vietnam War. After earning his honorable discharge, Dale would go on to serve in both the Minnesota National Guard and the South Dakota National Guard.

On March 14, 1975, Dale was united in marriage to Judy Reinesch in North Carolina. Together the couple would be blessed with a daughter, Carla. Dale had an incredible ability to read people and know exactly what they wanted which made him an successful salesperson. He worked various jobs in sales in addition to owning and operating the “Fowl Play” restaurant near Huron, S.D., and the Vacuum Store in Fairmont. In his youth, Dale was active in youth group at the Methodist Church in Stickney. He loved meeting new people and was always willing to lend a hand to those in need. Dale was passionate about sports and looked forward to warm summer days spent out on the golf course and cool fall nights cheering on the Fairmont Cardinal football team. Sundays meant gathering with family for food, laughs, and the hope that the Minnesota Vikings would bring home a win. Dale was very talented in the kitchen and was an accomplished cook. He was a member of the Fairmont Eagles Club.

Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Carla Knudson of Crystal, Minn.; two grandsons, Joseph and James, also of Crystal; sister, Marlene Ditzler of Fairmont; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, LaVerne and Iona Bryan and two brothers, Gary and Don.
