Duane L. Anderson

WELCOME — A Celebration of Life Visitation for Duane L. Anderson, 68, of rural Welcome, Minnesota will be held 4p.m. to 7p.m. Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at the Kramer Family Funeral Home in Trimont, Minnesota. Private Family Graveside Services will be Wednesday at Cedar Hill Cemetery in rural Trimont with Pastor Eric Medthun officiating.

Duane entered into his eternal rest on Thursday morning, August 8, 2019 at his home in rural Welcome, Minnesota.

Duane Lyle Anderson was born on March 29, 1951 to Alden and Theresia (Anderson) Anderson at Dr. Parson’s office in Monterey, Minnesota. He was baptized in Kimball Township, Covenant Church and later confirmed at the Covenant Church in Triumph, Minnesota. Duane attended country school #1076 and #128 in rural Trimont. He attended Butterfield Schools for a short time and then switched to school in Trimont. Duane was a 1969 Graduate of Tri-Mont High School. He then attended Jackson Vo-Tech for Auto-Body Repair. Duane was employed at Hawkins Chevrolet, Marquardt Motors in Eau Claire, Wisconsin and Heintz Cadillac in Mankato. On August 18, 1979 he was united in marriage to Kari Bettin at Waverly Lutheran Church in rural Trimont, Minnesota. He owned and operated Anderson Body Shop on his farm in rural Trimont and later drove truck for Gaalswyk Brothers in Trimont. Duane also farmed in rural Trimont for over twenty-five years. He was employed at WFS in the transport division since 2003 working there until his retirement in 2014.

He loved spending time outside on the deck watching Fox Lake sunsets, driving the pontoon and fishing with the love of his life. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. There wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for them. “Papa” and “PopPop” were names he adored. He greatly enjoyed spending time with family and friends, deer hunting, shooting pool, shaking dice, building contraptions and feeding the squirrels.

He is survived by his wife, Kari Anderson of rural Welcome, Minnesota; son, Adam (Christy) Anderson of Shakopee, Minnesota; daughter, Abby (Troy) Loveland of Hutchinson, Minnesota; three grandchildren, Brady and Brinley Anderson and Josie Loveland; brother, Maynard (Ginger) Anderson of rural Mountain Lake, Minnesota; two sisters, Diann (Casey) Lloyd of Butterfield-Mankato, Minnesota and Nylene (Barry) Haseman of Albert Lea, Minnesota; father-in-law, Walter Bettin of rural Trimont, Minnesota; brothers-in-law, Phil (Sheila) Bettin of rural Trimont, Minnesota, Paul (Lisa) Bettin of Altoona, Iowa; sister-in-law, Dianne Bettin of rural Truman, Minnesota; nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

Duane was preceded in death by his parents, Alden and Theresia Anderson; brother, Roger Anderson, Bernie Anderson and Paul Anderson; mother-in-law, Joan Bettin; brother-in-law, Doug Bettin and other relatives.
