SHERBURN — A Celebration of Life service for Kenneth L. Crissinger, 84, of rural Sherburn, Minn., will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn, Minn., with Rev. Steven D. Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the Sherburn Cemetery with military honors by the Thomas P. Saxton American Legion Post 356 and the Sherburn Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8261.

Kenneth was called to his eternal rest Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018, at his farm home in rural Sherburn, Minn. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. today at Kramer Family Funeral Home in Sherburn.

Kenneth Lee Crissinger was born Aug. 28, 1934, in Sherburn, Minn., to Arza and Florence (Dorendorf) Crissinger. He was baptized on Oct. 7, 1934, and later confirmed on May 25, 1947. Ken received his education in Sherburn Schools.

He later farmed in the area until serving in the U.S. Army until his honorable discharge.

On March 27, 1955, he was united in marriage to Dorothy “Dottie” Gemmill at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn, Minn. After their marriage, they made their home in rural Sherburn where they raised their family. Kenny farmed and worked part-time at the feed mill in Sherburn.

After retiring, he took care of his wife.

He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Sherburn VFW Post, and served on its honor guard.

He is survived by his four children: son, Kenneth C. (Dixie) Crissinger of Sherburn, Minn., son, Mark Crissinger of Granada, Minn., daughter, Carol (Tony) Zender of Sherburn, Minn., son, Michael (Brenda) Crissinger of Morristown, Minn.; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, John (Meg) Crissinger of Prior Lake, Minn., Dennis (Susan) Crissinger of rural Sherburn, Minn., Janet (Paul) Overgaard of Albert Lea, Minn., Mary (Dennis) Scheff of Sherburn, Minn.; brother-in-law, William “Bill” Gemmill of Texas; and other relatives.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; parents, Arza and Florence Crissinger; father and mother-in-law, William and Dorothy Gemmill; daughter-in-law, Patty Crissinger; brothers and their wives, Robert and Betty Crissinger, Ralph and Norma Crissinger; sister, Shirley Ann Manzey; and other relatives.
