SHERBURN — A Service of Remembrance for Dwight W. Hoffmeyer, 75, of Fairmont, formerly of Sherburn, Minn., will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018, at Kramer Family Funeral Home Chapel in Sherburn, Minn., with Pastor Mike Ennis officiating. Burial will be in the Sherburn Cemetery.

Dwight was called to his eternal rest Monday, Oct. 15, 2018, at his home in Fairmont, Minn.

Dwight Walter Hoffmeyer was born May 10, 1943, in Sherburn, Minn., to Walter and Hulda (Friesen) Hoffmeyer. He attended school in Sherburn, later graduating with the class of 1962.

Dwight was employed for the City of Fairmont in its Public Works Department, retiring after 32 years. He then helped a farmer near Granada by driving truck and anything he could do to help out. Dwight also was a bartender at Torge’s in Fairmont.

He later moved to Missouri, and then to Texas and made his home at a mobile home park in Kerrville, where he did maintenance for them and was their head chef. He then moved to Sioux Falls, S.D. In May of 2018, he moved to Fairmont to be near his family.

Dwight loved to travel, especially on his Harley Davidson motorcycle.

He is survived by his two sisters, Gwen (Keith) Sickler of rural Sherburn, Minn., Dorothy Anderson of Sherburn; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; cousin, Pat Salazar of Littleton, Colo.; other relatives and friends.

Dwight was preceded in death by his father and mother, Walter and Hulda Hoffmeyer; and brother-in-law, Dick Anderson.
