BLUE EARTH — Aaron Allen Nuessmeier, age 38, of Blue Earth, passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2018, after a courageous five-year battle with colon and liver cancer. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 7, 2018, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blue Earth with Rev. Jeanette Bidne and Rev. Brent Walker presiding.

Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Sunday, May 6, 2018, at Patton Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Blue Earth, and one hour prior to services Monday at the church. Web tributes may be left at www.pattonfh.com

Aaron was born March 25, 1980, in Blue Earth, the son of Allen and Paula (Boettcher) Nuessmeier. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blue Earth. He was very active in Scouting, earning his Eagle Scout Award in 1996 with Troop #49 of Blue Earth, Order of the Arrow, Vigil Member. He graduated in 1998 from Blue Earth Area High School and went on to attend Le Cordon Bleu, culinary program, doing his internship in Hawaii and then working in various restaurants in the Twin Cities and local area.

Aaron loved life, along with nature, camping, wild life, music, art, music festivals, photography, gardening and spending time at the family farm. He was a Minnesota sports fan along with Blue Earth Area School sports and IMCA dirt track car racing fan.

His dog Rusty was always seen with him, riding shotgun in his vehicle. He was an adventurous guy, he enjoyed his cross-country treks to see the beautiful USA and friends along the way. He was co-founder of the “Nuessmeier Brother’s Pumpkin Patch” and was known for his pumpkins and squash.

He will be remembered by his kind spirit. He has been a beacon of strength to all of us, his attitude has always been positive and cheerful. Aaron certainly fought a good fight.

Aaron is survived by his parents, Allen and Paula of Blue Earth; brothers, Josh Nuessmeier of Blue Earth, and Jon Nuessmeier of Minneapolis; grandparents, Harold and Valoris Nuessmeier of Waseca; aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends.

Aaron was preceded in death by his grandparents, Donald and Irene (Alfson) Boettcher; cousins, J.J. Boettcher and Andy Leland; and many family and friends.
