Nine years in the Minnesota Senate teaches you plenty. You see good ideas rise, bad ones fall and a whole lot in between. But lately, the thing that keeps jumping out at me is that more and more laws from the last few years aren’t surviving in court. The pattern is hard to miss. America needs to wake up to gun problem To the editor: I read about yet another shooting here in the land of Minnesota “nice” – at a Catholic Church in Minneapolis. How long will it take for the USA to wake up from their stupor of stupidity and realize there is no way to have free access to guns and ammunition without the on-going escalation of senseless killing and violence. Park board recommends amenity shuffling This week the Fairmont Park Board talked about a plan to move the pickleball courts from Veterans Park to where the Skate Park is on Winnebago Avenue and move the Skate Park to be near the Aquatic Park. This plan will address ongoing concerns at both parks. It will also bump up recreational activities for youth near the Aquatic Park as mini golf, ball fields and bike rentals are already there, too.
