Imagine Martin invites all to explore holiday homes

FAIRMONT — Imagine Martin will host a Holiday Tour of Homes fundraiser, benefitting the Red Rock Center for the Arts in Fairmont, beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13.

“Imagine Martin decided to and continues to want to promote the arts and the art venues throughout Martin County,” said Imagine Martin Chair Jeff Rouse. “Because of the success of the Tour of Gardens event that we did last summer, in which the tickets benefited the historic Chubb House, we decided to do a Christmas-themed Holiday Tour of Homes that would benefit the Red Rocks Center for the Arts.”

One hundred percent of ticket proceeds will, as the goal of the Red Rock Center’s board, benefit the Red Rock Center building, with a strong focus on roof repairs. Rouse explained that assisting fellow organizations promoting fine arts and creativity in the community has been at the core of Imagine Martin.

“Imagine Martin’s goal has long been to develop and to enhance the arts community, and part of that mission is to recognize and help promote other venues, such as the Red Rock, Chubb House and Fairmont Opera House. These are important organizations that truly are making a difference in our community and need our support, our community’s support,” Rouse emphasized.

During the event, touring attendees will see various ways of decorating for the holidays in different settings and lot types, reflecting history, elegance, nostalgia and other themes. With that said, five uniquely-decorated Fairmont locations will be explored, including the Martin County Historical Society Pioneer Personage House on East Blue Earth Avenue, Rojo/Broomfield’s apartment on Falcon Drive, Rouse’s downtown flat on West 1st Street, the historic Chubb House on Lake Avenue and the Gibson/Johnson home on Winnebago Avenue. The event will conclude with a salad and soup luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Red Rock Center for select individuals.

As for selecting the locations. Rouse said, “Imagine Martin contacted different people who were recommended to have it be in the tour of homes. Each was shared to show how different people decorate for the season. We are very excited for the event, and excited to have a large variety of different types of homes, so people could see what could be done in decorating for the season, whether it be an apartment, a home or another location. But we wanted it to be a variety of different types of homes that people do unique things to decorate.”

More details regarding tour locations will be distributed to attendants on the day of the event. Tickets are required, cost $25 and are sold at Imagine Martin Community and Information Hub, Red Rock Center and GiddyUp Boutique in Fairmont. Tickets purchased before Dec. 10 will qualify for the salad and soup meal following the tour. For additional information, contact Imagine Martin at info@imaginemartin.com or the Red Rock Center at (507) 235-9262.

“I think people will find the five that have been selected truly a unique assortment of decorating ideas and styles for the holidays. The ticket price not only helps support the Red Rock Center, but shows your support of the arts community in our town,” Rouse said.

Starting at $2.99/week.
