CEYLON — Our Savior’s Lutheran Church will have evening services at 5:30 p.m. tonight, Oct. 4 in Ceylon. They invite area residents to the Bible Class they have at 9:30 a.m. each Tuesday morning.

The Circle of Faith Parishes meet at 9 a.m. on Sundays in October at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ceylon and at 10:30 a.m. at Waverly Lutheran Church, north of Welcome. During the month of October, St. Peter will be collecting monetary donations for the Heaven’s Table Food Shelf, and members may mail donations to Box 745, Fairmont, Minn. 56031. St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wilbert meets at 9:30 a.m. on Sundays and their partner Church in Sherburn, St. John meets at 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. in October. The ladies group at Wilbert, LWML, will meet at 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 9. All members are encouraged to attend. Area residents are welcome to join these church services and events.

The Friendship Club from St. John’s Lutheran Church will meet at 11 a.m. on Oct. 6 at the Home Town Cafe in St. James. Area residents are welcome to join. Membership at St. John’s Church is not required.

Coffee Hours will spend their last month from 8:30 to 10 a.m. each Tuesday in October at Sherburn Congregational Church/Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center at 212 North Prairie in Sherburn. Join friends and neighbors for coffee and treats and great fellowship on Oct. 7.

The Cribbage Tournaments will begin on Oct. 11 at the Welcome Legion Hall beginning at 1:15 p.m. with registration ($11) which is returned in prizes. Play will begin at 1:30 p.m. for any area cribbage enthusiast. They will continue on Oct. 18. The tournaments will be held the second and third Saturdays of each month from October to March in Welcome. Area residents are welcome to join the afternoon of fun.

The American Red Cross blood drives will be from 1 to 6 p.m. on Oct. 6 at the Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center in Trimont, Oct. 8 at Truman Public Schools, Oct. 28 at the Truman Community Center, from 1 to 6 p.m. on Oct. 13 at the St. Paul’s Community Church in Welcome, Oct. 20 at Martin Luther High School and Oct. 24 at the American Legion Hall in Fairmont. A CREST Lunch and Learn program will be at 11 a.m. on Oct. 15 at the Sinn Celebration of Life Center in Sherburn.

The Lake Belt Bar and Grill will have host line dancing on Oct. 18.

The Helping Hands of Ceylon non-profit will have a Trunk and Treat event for area children from 1 to 3 p.m. on Oct. 25 in Ceylon. The Sherburn Lions will have a Pancake Breakfast fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Oct. 26 at the Martin County West High School cafeteria. Proceeds will go to the non-profit Healing Hearts Recovery Home in Sherburn.
