Truman Active Living meets July 14

TRUMAN — Truman Active Living will host swimming for Martin County 4-H members from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 12, at the Truman Pool. If you have questions contact your leaders or county extension.

Water aerobics are held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, at the Truman Pool.

Truman Active Living will host a Farmers Market again this summer from 8 to 11 a.m. on Saturdays, July 11, Aug. 1, 15, 29, Sept. 12, 26 and Oct. 10, at the north parking lot of the Truman Tavern. Truman Active Living will meet at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 14, at the Truman Museum. Any Truman resident who is interested in seeing the community continue to provide and improve our facilities is welcome to come and give input.

St. Paul Lutheran Church in Truman will host its annual salad luncheon from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15. Takeouts and an elevator will be available. Proceeds will go to many needed church repairs.

Recycling day is Wednesday. Place recycling containers on the curb by 7 a.m. Egg cartons, pizza boxes, styrofoam and plastic grocery bags are prohibited. All items being recycled must be clean.

Second Harvest Heartland, nutrition assistance program for seniors, will have box pickup from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday July 15, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Truman. Eligibility is based on age, 60 years and up, household size, and income. Pre-register at 1-800-365-0270.

Sign Language Basics will be at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday July 14, at the Truman City Library. It’s free, open to all ages and no registration is required.
