Church schedule change in September
CEYLON — Area churches have service changes in September. St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wilbert will have services at 10 a.m. tomorrow, Sept. 14. The Sundays of Sept. 21 and Sept. 28 will begin their fall schedule with services at 9:30 a.m. Their partner church in Sherburn, St. John’s Lutheran, will have one more Sunday at 8:30 a.m., a Sunday School Rally, and a meal. The remaining Sundays in September will be the fall schedule of 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. services for them. The Circle of Faith Parishes have services at 9 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome and 10:30 a.m. services at First Lutheran Church in Trimont in September. There will be a Sunday School Rally this Sunday, Sept. 14, at First Lutheran in Trimont. Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Ceylon will have its next service at 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 20. They have services on the first and third Saturday evenings. They have a Bible Study group at 9:30 a.m. each Tuesday. Area residents are welcome to join any of these churches for events and services.
The Martin County Relay for Life fundraiser for the American Cancer Society will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today, Sept. 13, at the Martin County Fairgrounds in Fairmont. There are many events planned, including a survivor relay walk, luminary memorials, pork meal, O’Scoop’s Ice Cream, and more. Plan to attend. What a worthy cause. Plan to attend. Proceeds help with research for the cure of cancer.
Line dancing will be today, Sept. 13, and Karaoke with Dion will be on Sept. 20, at the Lake Belt Bar and Grill in Ceylon.
Tuesday Coffee Hours continue from 8:30 to 10 a.m. each Tuesday in September at the St. Paul’s Community Church in Welcome.
The October Coffee Hours will be at the Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center in Sherburn. Join friends and friends you haven’t met yet for coffee, treats, and great fellowship each Tuesday. The Coffee Lovers group meets from 8:30 to 10 a.m. each Thursday in the back room of the Lake Belt Bar and Grill in Ceylon. All are welcome.
The CREST Lunch and Learn program will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 17, at the First Lutheran Church in Trimont. The speaker will be Suzy Sunshine. There will be lunch following the speaker. These programs are free to senior citizens in Martin County. CREST appreciates a free-will donation for the lunch.
The Ruby’s Pantry grocery distribution will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 15, at the Regional Worship Center parking lot, south of Interstate 90, in Sherburn. $25 will get a trunk full of groceries. Check their partial list of groceries available on Facebook. If anyone has boxes, please bring them to the volunteers at the beginning of the line. There are no residential or income guidelines for groceries at this distribution.

The Ceylon Clean-up Day will be on Sept. 27 with curbside pickup only. Tags may be purchased at the City Hall. This is a good opportunity to get rid of the items that may be an ordinance violation for less. This is for Ceylon residents only.
The American Red Cross blood drives will be from 1 to 6 p.m. on Oct. 6 at the Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center in Trimont and from 1 to 6 p.m. on Oct. 13 at St. Paul’s Community Church in Welcome. Make an appointment now. October is not that far away.
