The local non-profit group, Ceylon Helping Hands, would appreciate assistance with funds for the new project at the park. They have a Veterans support project including three flagpoles for the American flag, Minnesota flag and a POW flag which are illuminated at the park. In addition to the flagpoles, there is also a veterans plaque as part of the outside renovations. This group received a grant from the Schmeekle Foundation and renovated the inside of the park shelter house for a fresh new look with the grant monies. The group put in new ceiling fans, two new garage doors, painted, and some new tables for the inside renovations. Donations to honor veterans and fallen soldiers can be sent to Ceylon Helping Hands at Box 202, Ceylon, MN 56121 or given to Chris Griffin or Barb Kronback.
