Clean up day May 18

CEYLON — The Lake Belt Bar and Grill in Ceylon will feature the Red Dirt Road Band 8:30 p.m. tonight, May 11. They are also planning a bag tournament at 5 p.m. on May 18. Plan to attend.

Sunday, May 12, is Mother’s Day. Happy Mother’s Day to all area moms, mothers-in-law and those who are like a mother to our area children.

Tuesday, May 14, is the special election for the MCW School Building referendum. Lake Belt Township votes at Dunnell City Hall.

Ceylon City Council meets 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, at the city hall in Ceylon. There is always a time to speak for the public at the beginning of each meeting. To be on the regular agenda, please contact city hall prior to the meeting date at (507) 632-4653.

Tuesday coffee hours for the month of May continue from 8:30-10 a.m. on May 14, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome. Join friends and neighbors for good fellowship along with coffee and goodies.

Congratulations to Trinity Church in Welcome as they will have a special service on May 19 for their 150th anniversary. This will be a joint service for the Circle of Faith parishes and guests. There will be a lunch following the service.

There will be a Lunch and Learn program beginning 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, at First Lutheran Church in Trimont, followed by a light lunch. These informative programs are free to anyone in Martin County. They do appreciate a free will donation for the lunch. Plan to attend.

There will be American Red Cross blood drives in Fairmont during the month of May. They include on May 16 at Grace Lutheran Church, on May 20 at St. Vianney Catholic Church and on May 24 at Live Fit Gym. Ceylon Clean Up Day is scheduled for May 18 for curbside pick up only and for Ceylon residents only. Check out the information in the utility bills. Tags are available at Ceylon City Hall.
