Ruby’s Pantry distribution Monday

SHERBURN — This weekend there will be the summer festival in Welcome with a parade beginning 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. There are also city-wide garage sales. The map is available at Casey’s in Welcome. Friday the Welcome Fire Relief Association will have a

chicken feed from 5-7:30 p.m. at the Welcome Legion Hall. There are many events scheduled. Check out the poster on Facebook.

The Sherburn Theatre will feature the movie ‘Sound of Freedom’ this weekend, July 14-16. The movie is about an ex veteran that helps children caught up in the trafficking schemes of evil people, to escape. Show times are 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 4 p.m. on Sunday.

Sherburn City Council meeting will be held 5 p.m. Tuesday, July 18, at Sherburn City Hall. There is always a time for public comments and questions at the beginning of each meeting.

Tuesday coffee hours for the month of July continues from 8:30-10 a.m. on July 18, at the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn, just south of I-90. Join friends and neighbors for coffee, goodies and great fellowship.

There will be a Ruby’s Pantry grocery distribution from 5:30-7 p.m. Monday, July 17, at the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn. The many groceries will be put in your empty trunk for only a $25 donation. There are no income or residency requirements. Check out the list of items on Facebook.

Upcoming events include:

* A CREST-sponsored Lunch and Learn is scheduled for 11 a.m. on July 19 at First Lutheran Church in Trimont. There will be a program followed by a lunch. This is a free program for anyone living in Martin County. A free will donation is appreciated for the lunch.

* Sherburn Legion will have its ‘Hamburger Night’ from 5-8 p.m.

* There is an American Red Cross blood drive scheduled from 1-6 p.m. on July 21 at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Welcome.
