Program today at senior center

SHERBURN — There will be a Lunch & Learn program 11 a.m. today, June 7, at the Senior Center in Sherburn, followed by a light lunch. These programs are free to anyone in Martin County to learn about various topics. A free will donation is appreciated for the lunch.

Tonight, June 7, is ‘Hamburger Night’ from 5-8 p.m. at the Sherburn Legion Hall. A grilled burger with all the fixings, salad and baked beans costs only $10. It always tastes better when you don’t have to cook it, right ladies?

An American Red Cross blood drive continues today, June 7 and Thursday, June 8 at Best Western in Fairmont. There will also be a blood drive from 1-6 p.m. Monday, June 12, at the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn. There is an urgent need for blood now so give if you are able. Thank you.

Tuesday coffee hours for June continue from 8:30-10 a.m. June 13, at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Sherburn. Join friends and neighbors for good coffee, treats and great fellowship.

The farmer’s market in Trimont is open from 2:30-5:30 p.m. Friday, June 9, at Anderson Park’s shelter house.

Sundaes at the Park in Trimont also begins this weekend with the Centennial Band performing at 6 p.m. Sunday, June 11. Good family entertainment and a delicious ice cream treat for a free will donation. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy.

The Sherburn Theatre will feature the new Disney release ‘The Little Mermaid’ this weekend, June 9-11. Show times are 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 4 p.m. on Sunday.

St. John’s Lutheran Church will have a service beginning 10 a.m. Monday, June 12, at the Temperance Lake Ridge facility. Also, the ladies LWML group of St. John’s will meet 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 14. All members are urged to attend.

Upcoming events include:

* Deadline to submit the community survey from MCW school district is June 16.

* Summer Festival in Sherburn begins with a chicken supper and street dance on June 16, at the fire hall, and plenty of activities at the city park on June 17, as well as the parade set for 1 p.m.

* Ruby’s Pantry grocery distribution is scheduled 5:30-7 p.m. on June 19 at the Regional Worship Center parking lot in Sherburn.

* The American Cancer Society fundraiser Relay for Life is scheduled from 4-11 p.m. June 24, at the fairgrounds in Fairmont.
