SHERBURN — There will be a men’s breakfast from 9-10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, at the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn. Area men are welcome to join them.

Martin County West Schools will be dismissing at 12:15 p.m. today for a teacher’s workshop.

Men’s Night basketball is held 7 p.m. every Wednesday at the high school gym in Sherburn. The cost is only $1. Remember your gym shoes men.

There will also be open gym from 1-3 p.m. Sundays at the high school in Sherburn. Take advantage of the MCW facilities and please remember your gym shoes.

The Sherburn Theatre will feature the movie “The Whale” this weekend, Jan. 27-29. Show times are 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 4 p.m. on Sundays.

MCW students have lots of things scheduled this week. On Thursday, Jan. 26, the girls basketball team will have a 7 p.m. game in Trimont. On Friday, Jan. 27, the boys basketball team will travel to Cleveland for a 7 p.m. game, while the boys hockey team will be at Redwood Valley for a 7:30 p.m. game. On Saturday, Jan. 28, the wrestling team will be at Mankato East for a 10 a.m. meet. The girls hockey team will play a 2:15 p.m. game at Albert Lea, and the boys hockey team will have a game at 3 p.m. will be at the Martin County Arena in Fairmont. On Monday, Jan. 30, the boys basketball team will play in Sherburn at 7 p.m., with the CER cheer squad performing at half time. On Tuesday, Jan. 31, the Knowledge Bowl team meets. The girls basketball team will travel to Alden for a 6 p.m. game, the gymnastics team will hold a meet at 6 p.m. at Live Fit in Fairmont, and the boys basketball team will be have a 7 p.m. game at Luverne. Can’t believe it’s almost February. I have always felt like spring is near when February comes around or at least we may be near the hump of winter then. But I am not a winter lover so I begin thinking about spring in November.
