Charles Pearson of 731 Albion Ave. filed as a candidate for Fairmont mayor on Wednesday. So far, Pearson is unopposed.

Jon Davis of 657 Shoreacres Dr. filed last week for Ward 1. He will be running against Jay Maynard, who also declared his intent for the open seat.

Incumbent Randy Lubenow filed to retain his Ward 3 seat last week, along with current Mayor Deb Foster, who also filed for the Ward 3 seat.

Aug. 16 is the last day to file. Filing for council must be completed at the city clerk’s office at City Hall. Candidates must pay a $5 filing fee and fill out an affidavit of candidacy. The clerk’s office is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays.
