Area Easter Egg Hunts on Saturday
WELCOME — There is an Easter Egg Hunt planned 9 a.m. Saturday at Keck Park in Welcome. There are other Easter Egg Hunts in the area also. There is a hunt in Sherburn at 9 a.m., one in Dunnell at 10 a.m., and one in Trimont at 10:30 a.m. Sounds like fun if the weather cooperates.
Have a wonderful Easter Sunday. Area churches are planning services. St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Welcome will have a 7 a.m. service on Sunday. Circle of Faith parishes will have services at each of the four churches in the group. Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome will have a 7 a.m. service, First Lutheran Church in Trimont will also have a 7 a.m. service. Waverly Lutheran north of Welcome
will have 9 a.m. services and St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ceylon will have 9 a.m. services. All area residents are welcome to join these congregations for special Easter services.
There will be a drive through communion for the Circle of Faith parishes at Waverly and Trinity Lutheran Churches from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. this Sunday.
Ruby’s Pantry drive through grocery distribution will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn just south of I-90. The cost is $22 for a trunk full of boxes of groceries. There are no income or residential guidelines all are welcome.
Welcome Legion Auxiliary will have a meeting 7 p.m. Monday at the Welcome Legion Hall. All members are urged to attend.
Condolences to the families of Nancy (Tish) Leyh and Mildred Miller from Welcome who recently passed away. They will be missed.
Welcome City Council will meet 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, at Welcome City Hall. There is always a time for public comments and questions at the beginning of each meeting without reservations. To be on the regular agenda, please contact the city clerk at (507) 728-8740 prior to the meeting.
Upcoming events include a CREST-sponsored Lunch & Learn event that will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, at First Lutheran Church in Trimont. These free gatherings are for anyone from Martin County. A free will donation is appreciated for the meal. Plan to attend.
Trimont will have city-wide rummage sales from April 21-23. Anyone wishing to get their rummage sale on the advertisement should give the information (location, dates and times, list of some items, plus name if you want it published) and the $10 cost of the write up to Karla Geerdes at 430 Chestnut St. East in Trimont by Monday, April 18. Karla and Deb are looking for someone to organize this sale next year. Let them know if you are interested.
