Holy Week services begin today

TRUMAN — As we celebrate Holy Week these are the following churches schedules:

— Church of Christ will have a 7 p.m. Thursday service with communion. On Sunday they will have a 7 a.m. sunrise service with breakfast to follow at 8 a.m. Sunday School is at 9:30 a.m. and the worship service is at 10:30 a.m.

— St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church will have Maundy Thursday service with communion at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. Tenebrae services will be held 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. Friday. Their Easter Festival service with holy communion will be 7:30 a.m. Sunday and breakfast at 8:30 a.m.

— Trinity Lutheran Church will have a 6:30 p.m. Good Friday service with holy communion. Easter Sunday service with holy communion will be held 10:30 a.m. Both services will be live streamed on their Facebook page at Trinity Lutheran Truman.

2022 Strike Out Cancer t-shirts are now available to order. You may order online at www.companycasuals.com/strikeoutcancer. Please place your order by Friday. Shirts will be delivered the week of May 9. Their event is May 17. If you are not able to order online, please contact Paula Heckman at (507) 236-6774. Aardvarks Bar and Grill will be holding a meat raffle beginning 6 p.m. Friday evening with proceeds benefitting the Truman High School trap shooting team. Your support is appreciated.

Truman Sorority Club is hosting an Easter Egg Hunt beginning 10 a.m. Saturday for children, pre-school to 5th grade, which will be held on the football field at Truman High School. Bring a container for your eggs.

Also, on Saturday at 10:30 a.m., an Easter Egg Hunt for children, newborn to 12-years-old, will be held at the Old Lewisville City Hall. This hunt is sponsored by the Lewisville Community Club.

Truman Lions Club burger bash will be held 5-7 p.m. Saturday at the Truman Community Building. Enjoy a delicious burger, condiments, beans, chips, and a beverage. The public is invited.

Truman City Council will meet 5:30 p.m. Monday.

Wednesday is recycling day. Containers should be curbside by 7 a.m. with all recycling materials clean.

Second Harvest Heartland and Nutrition Assistance Program for Seniors will be held 9:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Truman. Just come to the church to pick up your box. Eligibility is based on age, 60 years and up, household size, and income. Pre-register at 1-800-365-0270.

The Great Puzzle Race, hosted by the Truman Public Library, will take place 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 21, at the Truman Community Building. Teams of four participants will race to see who can finish a puzzle first. The event is free. Register teams at the library by calling (507) 776-2717.
