Cribbage tournament Saturday

WELCOME — There will be a pork chop supper fundraiser from 5:30-7:30 p.m. tonight at the Welcome Legion Hall. This event is being done to help raise funds for the Welcome Summer Festival in July. Smoked chops, baked potato, glazed carrots, and a dinner roll are

on the menu. The cost is a free will donation with a suggestion of a $12 minimum.

There will be a cribbage tournament beginning with registration 1:15 p.m. Saturday at the Welcome Legion Hall. The entry fee will go to the winnings. All area residents are welcome to join them for a fun afternoon.

Circle of Faith congregations may go to drive through communion from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome, or Waverly Lutheran Church north of Welcome.

There will be a Red Cross blood drive in Trimont from 1-7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 21, at the Covenant Church on Main Street. Also, there will be a blood drive from noon to 6 p.m. on Feb. 28, at St. Paul’s UCC Church on Dugan Street in Welcome. To find out locations and dates for blood drives in the area and what time slots are available, call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767), go online at www.redcrossblood.org or text BLOOD APP to 90999. Make

appointments early since the times fill up and there are no walk-ins available due to Covid protocol. Do a Rapid Pass the day of the donation and bring it to the location to speed up the registration time. The Red Cross is experiencing the worst blood shortage in over a decade. The dangerously low blood supply levels have forced some hospitals to defer patients from major surgery, including organ transplants. There is a dire need for blood donations now so if you are able to, please give.

Starting at $2.99/week.
