Pancake Breakfast on Sunday

CEYLON — Today, there will be a spaghetti supper and silent auction benefit for the Cody and Margo (Daleske) McDonald family at MCW High School in Sherburn. The bidding for the silent auction is from 3-5:30 p.m. The spaghetti supper will be from 4:30-6:30 p.m. The winning bids from the auction will be announced at 6 p.m. Winning bidders need not be present to win. The McDonald family lost their home in Welcome on Jan. 1, 2022, from a house fire.

The youth group from St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn will have a pancake breakfast from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday at the church. They will serve pancakes, sausages, eggs, orange juice and coffee. Cost will be a free will donation to help the group raise funds

for planned youth activities.

Ceylon City Council will meet 6 p.m. Tuesday at Ceylon City Hall. All members are urged to attend. There is always a time for public comments and questions at the beginning of the meeting. Ceylon Legion will meet 7 p.m. Tuesday evening in the back room at Legends ll in Ceylon. All members are urged to attend.

Our Savior’s Lutheran Church has a Bible class at 9:30 a.m. every Tuesday morning. They have evening services at 5:30 p.m. each Saturday. Area residents are welcome to join them.

Coffee Lovers group meets 8:30-10 a.m. every Thursday in the back room at Legends ll. All area men and women are welcome to join them for their coffee time.

Condolences to the family of former Ceylon resident, Lupe (Gonzales) Stromberg. She will be missed.

The LWML ladies from St. Paul’s Lutheran Church will have their annual sweetheart potluck meal at noon on Thursday, Feb. 10, followed by their monthly meeting at 1:30 p.m. The program for the day will be a video which all may enjoy.

There will be cribbage tournament beginning 1:15 p.m. on Feb. 12,at Legends ll in Ceylon. All area men and women are welcome to join in the fun afternoon. Entry fees are applied to the winnings.

Area blood drives for this month are Feb. 15-17 at Best Western Motel, formerly Holiday Inn, in Fairmont; Feb. 21 in Trimont; and Feb. 28, in Welcome.
