Holiday light parade Saturday

TRUMAN — Don’t miss out on the meat raffle beginning 6 p.m. Friday at Aardvarks in Truman, with proceeds going to the Truman High School trap team. They is no meat raffle on Dec. 24, but there is one scheduled for New Year’s Eve.

Have you heard about the Holiday Light Parade the Truman Fire Department is holding, beginning 6 p.m. Saturday. The route is 3.75 miles and covers most of downtown Ciro Street, past Heartland Senior Living, Graf Park, THS, Southwest Apartments, Truman Community Building, and more. Truman Lions Club and Truman Pride will be serving a light lunch from 5-7 p.m. Saturday at the Truman Community Building. Enjoy a hot dog or two, hot chocolate, coffee, etc. Also, Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus will be visiting during the evening.

Sunday, Dec. 19, is the day to fly your American flag at half staff to honor those we have lost to COVID. Governor Tim Walz has requested us to do this as a way of showing the families that have lost a loved one that we care.

Martin County Pork Producers Ambassador Scholarship is open to high school seniors and college students to age 21. The scholarship is available to any students whose family is part of the pork industry in Martin County and is pursuing an ag-related field. Deadline to apply is Jan. 11, 2022.
