MCW school registration is soon

SHERBURN — This weekend, the movie Jungle Cruise will play at the Sherburn Theatre. Movie times are 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 4 p.m. on Sunday. This is a Disney movie starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and a new release.

Sherburn Legion will have their monthly Steak Fry Night 5-8 p.m. Saturday evening. The menu includes ribeye steak, shrimp, or smoked pork chop with a salad bar, baked potato, and garlic toast

for $17.

Old Alley Quilt Shop will continue their Sew Days Monday at 1 p.m. with a session to make a Quick Zip Bag for $5 and materials. For more information, go online at oldalleyquilt shop.com.

Ruby’s Pantry will have a distribution 5:30-7 p.m. Monday at 2 Crossroads Drive across from Kum & Go in Sherburn. This is a drive through distribution. Open your trunk and have plenty of room for

all the bundles. For a $20 donation there will be an abundance of groceries. There is no income or residency requirement. For more details check out the Facebook site at rubypantrysherburn.

There will be a coffee hour 8:30-10 a.m Tuesday at St. John’s

Lutheran Church in Sherburn. They will have Tuesday Coffee Hours during August.

There will be registration for Martin County West

Schools August 23-27 at individual schools from

7:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

School is scheduled to start September 7 for grades

7-12 and September 9 for grades K-6.

Condolences to the families of DudLee Faber and Luella Karstens, former Sherburn residents, that have relatives near Sherburn. They will be missed.

Upcoming events include a benefit dinner and silent auction fundraiser for Wayne and Della Lutterman to be held 5-9 p.m. Friday, August 27, at 1529 30th Ave., (Earl and Charlotte Cordes). The event will help defray nursing home costs. If you cannot attend donations may be sent to Farmer’s State Bank in Trimont to

the Della Lutterman Fund.

There will also be a Gospel Bluegrass Band Concert 6 p.m, Sunday, August 29, at the Regional Worship Center featuring the band The Farm Hands. Plan now to attend.
