Cribbage tournaments are cancelled
WELCOME — Although, regrettably, there was no Veterans Day dinner this year, all veterans have our deepest respect. We remember those who served and are serving in the armed forces of our country. A big thank you to all of you.
Thank you to all those who generously gave to the Pheasants for Vets fundraiser at the Welcome Legion. They met and surpassed their goal for this year. Many veterans received a meal for Veterans Day at hospitals and nursing homes.
Welcome City Council will meet on 6 p.m. Tuesday at Welcome City Hall. All members are urged to attend.
Welcome/Ceylon cribbage organizers would also like to remind those who enjoyed the cribbage tournaments in past years that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be NO tournaments until further notice. The tournaments usually ran the second and third Saturdays from November to March. They are hoping to have the tournaments again in 2021-22.
Condolences to the families of Bill Rosa and Gary Williams from Welcome who passed away this week. Gary will be remembered by firefighters, post office employees and many more. They will be missed.
