WELCOME — Martin County West School will host a blood drive from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at the high school in Sherburn. If you are able, please donate blood.

Also, there will be a blood drive from 12:30-5:30 p.m. Monday at Martin Luther High School in Northrop, and a blood drive from 1-6 p.m. Nov. 11 at the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn.

St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Welcome will host its annual turkey dinner from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday.

There is a charge, with a reduced charge for children ages 6-12. Children 5 and younger eat for free.

The menu includes turkey, mashed potatoes, dressing, vegetable, buns, assorted desserts and beverages.

Take-outs will be available.

There is a free “Mavs in Motion” play area sponsored by CER from 9-11 a.m. Wednesdays at the Welcome school. No registration needed.

Since a new month has begun, senior citizens will meet for their noon potluck meal Monday at the Welcome Legion, with fellowship to follow. All area senior citizens are invited to join them the first Monday of each month.

Cribbage tournament play begins in November, with play held at 1:30 p.m. on the second Saturday at Legends 2 in Ceylon, and at 1:30 p.m. on the third Saturday at the Welcome Legion. All area residents are invited to join the fun.

Plan to attend the Martin County West school play “Beauty and the Beast” at 7 p.m. Nov. 15, 7 p.m. Nov. 16 or 2 p.m. Nov. 17 at the Sherburn Theatre. There is a charge.

There also will be a bake sale and concessions available in the theatre’s lobby.
