Faribault County public works projects advance

BLUE EARTH — With fall here and winter approaching, Faribault County commissioners received some good news Tuesday concerning road and bridge projects from Mark Daly, the county’s public works director.

“We are wrapping up work on most of the road projects,” he said. “County Road 12 is now paved from the county line to the city of Winnebago, and the work on County Road 15 should be done by early to mid-October depending on the weather.”

Daly also had news on the two bridge replacement projects yet to be completed this fall. One is located in Rome Township on 60th Street, the other bridge on 500th Avenue in Seely Township.

“We received word the pre-cast culverts for the bridge replacement projects should be available next week,” he explained. “We should be able to start working on the bridges soon.”

The board took care of some other public works business by approving the hiring of Darius Johnson as the new maintenance man operating out of Winnebago.
